Yesmine Ben Khelil

09/09 – 25/09/2018

“I would say that philomena+ has the particularity of being an informal residency. If it evolves, I strongly recommend to keep this “informal” spirit. The place is unusual, the fact that you stay and live inside the exhibition space allows direct contact with passers-by and the city, which makes the experience quite extraordinary. Taking part in the ParallelVienna, the alternative art fair, is also an essential part of the residency.”

Yesmine Ben Khelil (*1986 in Tunis, where she still lives and works). She holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and Art Studies from the Université Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne. Her solo exhibitions include “History of Haunting” in Escalier B, Bordeaux (2016) and “The Universe is Expanding” at the Selma Feriani Gallery, Tunis (2016). Her works were presented at the Dakar Biennale (2016) and at the Institut des Cultures d’Islam, Paris (2016).

Yesmine Ben Khelil took part in the Round Table “On the Significance of Artist Residences” and in the exhibition “Carrefour des Possibles” together with Lisl Ponger and other artists at the Parallel Vienna 2018.
