10 YEARS of philomena+

On 11/06/2016, philomena+ was officially registered as an association in Austria and started to present its programme, at first without a permanent venue. Two years later the space on Heinestraße 40 became the main venue and has since been used to host artists, exhibitions and events.

From the very beginning, philomena+ has been committed to artistic exchange, intercultural collaboration and supporting the art scene in Vienna and across North Africa and West Asia. philomena+ looks back on a rich programme of more than 40 exhibitions with residencies, public art interventions, workshops, performances, talks, concerts, and much more.

The event takes place within the current philomena+ exhibition Sitting on the Sidewalk and during the festival Langen Nacht der Praterstraße.

Programme schedule:

6 pm: Sitting on the Sidewalk: Artist Talk with current artist-in-residence Raed Ibrahim and the curator Sibylle Omlin  

6:30 pm: Welcoming words by the founders Christine Bruckbauer and Negar Hakim

6:45 Uhr: Omid Darvish & Sarvin Hazin, Music
7 pm: Birthday Cake & Prosecco
7:30 pm: Ursula Maria Probst with Raashish India, What a wonderful world? Exchange with the reality of what is happening, 2026, Transformance
