A participatory artistic photography and performance event explores gestures as transitions between private and communal spaces, across time and cultural boundaries. It asks how we can encounter, understand and “touch” one another today, and how we might overcome fear through an active engagement with contemporary processes of transformation.

Drawing inspiration from the artistic neighbourhood projects of “Raw Matters im Hof (Rabenhof)”, participants are invited to explore how different generations come together. How do generational aesthetics manifest themselves? Which memories connect us, and which visions of the future do we share—or experience differently?

In the open photo studio of Julius W. Chromecek, the encounters and moments emerging from the workshop with the dancers and performers Gabi Seeleitner & Christa Stöffelbauer are captured in photography, creating a visual reflection of shared experiences and perspectives.

artists

TOBIAS BROSSMANN (RAW MATTERS IM HOF)

works as a participatory artist at the intersection of community work and art. During his employment with wohnpartner Wien, he collaborated with Kulturlabor Gemeindebau on accessible art projects such as “Gemeindebautheater” and “Wiener Teppich.” Since 2021, he has been active as a participatory theatre maker with Theater der Unterdrückten Wien, where he facilitates workshops and contributes to project development. Tobias Brossmann is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Since 2023, he has been a member of the theatre collective Phehnix, contributing to the conception and implementation of the immersive production “WiderStadt” as well as performing in it.

JULIUS W. CHROMECEK

(*Vienna), initially completed an apprenticeship in photography and, as a psychologist, worked in fields including brain research. He subsequently attended the F. Kubelka School of Photography and completed training as a movement and dance educator. Today, he works as a visual artist, curator, juror, and gallery owner. His work—photographs and photobooks exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Austria and abroad—explores the relationship between people and their environment, as well as the many forms of human interaction. He is committed to artistic photography, i.a., as a member of the Künstlerhaus Association and the Kunstverein Baden. He also directs the f/43 Photography Gallery in Vienna.

NAOMI DUTZI

is a set designer and theatre maker with a background in architecture and a decade of experience in youth political work. Her stage productions have been presented at, among others, Dschungel Wien and Theater Drachengasse. With the collective Phehnix and the association kultonic, she primarily explores immersive and participatory forms of theatre, developing work that seeks to create consequences and foster transformation. Her artistic practice is particularly informed by an interest in classism and aesthetic barriers in theatre.

KAI FELDHAMMER (RAW MATTERS IM HOF)

works between puppetry, installation, film- and printmaking. Their projects are searching for different ways of (re)telling stories that center nonhuman perspectives and merge the tangible and the speculative. Kai is guided by perpetually wondering how these stories can extend our imagination towards the perception of other beings, foster curiosity and a sensory connection to a shifting environment. Past awards include the Crossing Europe Film Festival, Land Art Movement Biennale Águeda, Upad Theatre Festival Novi Sad and Chicago Short Film Festival.

GABRIELE SEELEITNER

(*AT), is a choreographer, dancer and movement educator. She develops interdisciplinary and participatory dance performances that activate public space as a site of encounter, dialogue, and shared experience. Her artistic work is rooted in choreographic concepts drawn from contemporary dance and instant composition. By questioning established norms and patterns of behaviour, she invites audiences and participants to experience public space from new perspectives and to engage in unexpected forms of togetherness. She co-founded the KLAUS collective www.kollektivklaus.at. In 2025, she was awarded - together with performer Christa Stoeffelbauer- first prize by IG Kultur Wien.

JULIA SKROBISZ (RAW MATTERS IM HOF)

(* Munich) graduated from school in Munich and attended the International Munich Art Lab before moving to Vienna, where she studied Philosophy. Since 2024, she has been studying Cross-disciplinary Strategies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, engaging with social and political issues through both artistic and academic practices. Working across disciplines and media, her practice focuses particularly on social injustice and (inter)humanity.

CHRISTA STÖFFELBAUER

(*AT) is a choreographer, dancer, performer and dance facilitator based in Vienna. She produces dance performances in collaboration with artists from the fields of music, dance, theatre and fine arts. She studied contemporary stage dance at Sozo Visions in Motion in Kassel, completed a movement pedagogy degree (IGRC)® and a BA in social work at the FH Campus Vienna. In her artistic work she researches themes of being human and poetic approaches that seek the connection between the body, dance and socio-political issues. In 2025, she received with Gabi Seeleitner the main Price of the Independent Scene Vienna of IG Kultur Wien.
